AI on one real job — not AI for its own sake
I put AI on one specific task inside a system you already run: drafting a first reply in your support queue, summarizing a long thread, sorting incoming work. A person on your side checks it before anything goes out, and your data stays yours.
Where AI actually helps
AI is good at first drafts and rough cuts: turning a long email thread into a short summary, proposing a reply for a human to approve, sorting incoming requests, pulling structured data out of messy text. In each case it does the tedious first pass and a person makes the call.
Where AI is not the answer
If a task has to be exactly right every time — a total, a price, a compliance step — plain code beats a model that's usually right. I'd rather tell you that up front than sell you an AI project that quietly makes things less reliable. Sometimes the honest answer is "this doesn't need AI," and you'll hear it from me before you spend.
How I keep it safe
The AI gets one job with clear limits, inside a system you already run. A person approves its output before it reaches a customer, so it's never off on its own. Your data stays yours — I design around what you're comfortable sending where, and keep sensitive data out of places it shouldn't go.
Common questions
Will my data be used to train someone's model?
Not unless you want it to. I design around what you're willing to send where, using options that keep your data private, and I'm clear about where each piece of data goes.
Can I trust what the AI produces?
You don't have to, and that's the point of keeping a person in the loop: the AI drafts, your team approves. For anything that must be exact, I use plain code, not a model.
Do you build chatbots?
Only where one genuinely helps. More often the win is quieter — AI doing a first pass on work your team already does, inside the tools they already use.
What if AI isn't the right fit?
Then I'll say so, and we look at automation or integration instead. I'd rather lose the AI project than ship one that makes your work less reliable.
